Vanilla planifonia

Origin: Manakara, Madagascar

Description: Our Vanilla Planifolia, often referred to as Bourbon vanilla, is renowned for its exceptional quality. It is characterized by long, fleshy pods with a rich aroma and a high concentration of vanillin.

Seasonality: The flowering of vanilla occurs between September and January, and the harvest takes place about 8 to 9 months after flowering, generally from June to August.

Harvesting and Processing Method: The harvest is carried out manually. The pods then undergo a meticulous preparation process that includes blanching, fermenting, sun drying, and maturing.

Preparation: Steamed, dried and refined

Volume: 10 metric tons per year of vanilla beans prepared

Uniformly colored dark brown or chocolate brown

Moisture: 30 – 35%

Vanillin: 1,3% – 1, 8%

Length: 13 cm ++

Shelf life: 24 months

Packaging: 5,5kg vacuum-packed, bootee with nylon strings or wrapped in wax paper, 25kq cardboard box
